At today’s @neda walk in Pittsburgh we had some volunteers holding up the lyrics but they were in the wrong order, the script on the podium I was speaking at nearly blew off and it served as a little reminder that life’s like that, little insignificant things may test you but big things and unexpected and things completely out of your control may happen also.
Even if you think you have it all figured out it falls apart and especially today fighting as a community to help save lives from Eating disorders (which has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness) we must remind each other that recovery won’t be perfect and it’s not meant to be because we are human. It’s humbling to meet so many of you, hug you and share our stories. But I also want to remind u regardless of where you’re from, what you do, what body God created for you, what age you are your voice matters. This pic is of me with my hair and makeup done professionally, I’ve been a model 14years my whole has been focused on trying to be picture perfect but that’s not my definition or who I am, it’s what I do as a living and i LOVE the life and career I’ve created but please never compare yourself to this, or to an Instagram illusion or even your best friend. You are meant to be you, live imperfectly and know that even if you feel out of control and don’t know what tomorrow may bring you’re doing your best. Sending you my love and support always?
