What an absolute roller coaster the last 24 hours have been! Competing in Carrara Stadium with basically a home crowd was breath taking by itself. I really enjoyed the competition at my first Commonwealth Games and wow what a competition that was. I am proud to have contributed to the highest quality field in the Commonwealth for women’s pole vault so far. I was initially a little disappointed with missing 4.80m because it absolutely is in me to jump much higher, but I will never be disappointed with winning a medal for New Zealand. It was a tough competition but I have learnt so much through this whole Games and it will just keep adding to the day when I bump that medal up one notch higher. The support from all the Kiwis here at NZ House really put things in perspective and made me beyond proud (and quite emotional) to be a New Zealander. As always this was a team achievement with Jeremy, so thank you for all your hard work. The NZ team here in the Gold Coast has done us all proud and I can’t wait to represent NZ again.
