What a day! Many strong emotions flying around yesterday culminating in a power screaming, hand slapping, run out finale on Electric Avenue. At the start of the route I had Talking Heads, Psycho Killer lyrics ‘I’m tense and nervous and I can’t relax’ going through my head. When the real climbing started my mind cleared, but I wasn’t at my most focused. But, sometimes all you need is the try hard factor and I can turn that on most of the time. Not sure I’ve ever power screamed so much on a route. The crux move is pretty hard and low percentage if you’re my size and I knew I needed to make a certain noise to stick it. Then the top is safe if you aren’t too pumped to wiggle the gear in properly. But it’s airy enough that you want your head screwed on. I feel so lucky that climbing gives you experiences like this, and extra lucky to have ladies like
