Police officers stand by a covered body after a van mounted a sidewalk and crashed into a crowd of pedestrians in #Toronto on April 23. At least nine people were killed when the van plowed onto the sidewalk, Toronto Police Acting Chief Peter Yuen said at a press conference, before it fled the scene. The driver was later taken into custody. He said 16 additional people were injured. It is not yet clear why the van jumped the curb, or whether it was an intentional attack.
