This is a happy picture of dad& I roaming the streets of Barcelona yday. We look happy bc we are happy. But after the sadness of @avicii 's death this week it has made me want to comment further on the general tone we put out on our social media.We choose to post happy pictures bc we like to focus on them, remember them&celebrate them. We also genuinely feel honoured to be in our position so this is no pity party - we asked for this life! What this picture doesn't show tho is the hrs before when Mim&dad left me in the hotel room to steal a few hrs sleep. I was exhausted after this wkd (brutal travel)& we had a family lunch I desperately didn't want to miss. It also doesn't show how inbetween happy snaps of Gaudi buildings, Im on my phone getting back to anyone that needs me bc afterall, it's a week day & office people need answers & we are approaching deadlines w reprocusions etc etc. It also doesn't show how Mim left lunch early to get some sleep while I went sight seeing with dad (she felt nauseous from tiredness). We choose to steal moments like the above with family & friends bc these r the moments (along with the other tour/music highs) that make it all worth it. There has been a lot of healthy discussion about mental health for touring artists &crew lately. We all feel like we watched Tim's story unfold in slow motion. There are others who we are worried about. So plse know guys, the glimpses of good times we show on here do not represent the day-in-day-out grind of the music biz. it's a jungle out there. A lot of nasty dishonest greedy people that u need 2fight on the daily. Like every industry I suppose.. The pressure is enourmous - not only from others but also the pressure we put on ourselves to make better music, look better, behave better, be happier ETC. We work 7 days a week, on messed up time zones & during weird hours. There r is so much more that goes into building and keeping this career than what meets the eye. for now tho, we're back to LDN to make some music that is hopefully gr8. RIP Tim. if heaven is a place w fluffy clouds & everything you love, we really hope ur up there⛅ ????
