To keep it 100 I wish the industry and general public truly knew how many careers in the fashion industry outcast like myself, Diandra Forrest, Alex Wek Connie Chiu and more have given a home to . Fashion especially isn’t the same anymore and I could care less but I still wish people knew the true history and struggle we had to go through to make it a tad bit easier for diversity and difference today. Along in that constant fight there have been many who have also fought for diversity in runways along with acceptance in general like Naomi Campbell, Tyson Beckford, Tyra Banks, Veronica Webb, lea T, Liya Kebede, Sesilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman, Arlenis Sosa to fashion officials such as Edward Enninful, Beth Ann Hardison, Andre Leon Talley, Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier and so much more. You may never know but when you do just know we did that shit and we are damn proud of it. I see trash ass Fashion awards every year award and celebrate people out of popularity rather than truth and you’d never guess that till this day I have never received one award and that’s just fine because the best reward I could have ever received was to have my mission succeed. I’ve always wanted to allow others like myself a place in this world because we were placed here for a reason and that to me is better than any chunk of metal.
