I realized long ago that I was different! In a special kind of way that is but also in a way that I knew I would have to overcome many mental obstacles in my life! Once I accepted that (at 8 years old) I decided that I needed to be strong mentally in everything that I would do in my life - or at least try! If you ever wondered why I decided to stick with fitness as my profession, I’m here to tell you, it wasn’t because of my love for exercise. It was my love for people. Specifically, seeing people succeed in a way that was mind bowing to me. During my group exercise classes (back in the 90’s lol) I would say to myself, “These people have know idea that every second that they do this workout they are bettering their lives mentally and physically. They are literally building a foundation of greatness for themselves.” This is precisely why I celebrate everyone’s success - at every level. Why am I telling you this? TODAY I stepped way outside of my comfort zone and entered a nationals tennis tournament where some of the players have professional tennis points but you know what- that didn’t stop me! AND YOU KNOW WHY I DIDN’T STOP! Because of YOU! My #fitfam! You all get uncomfortable every single day to push play and go on this journey of Trusting and Believing in yourselves with me and you all literally gave me the power. The power to succeed. Not succeed at winning, because I didn’t. I lost the match 6-1/6-0. - but the success of literally stepping outside of my comfort zone to do something that is so difficult. Here’s the thing, I know if I commit I will see gains! Just like if you continue to commit you’ll see gains! Not big biceps because I don’t care about those. Gains that fuel you to commit to being the best you and learning about yourself so that you can better yourself. I say all that to say THANK YOU! Thank you to all of you and especially to @scottphotobombs for inspiring me to pick up the racket! Here’s to many more tournaments. And full disclosure, a brotha is trying to win his next tournament because truth be told, I’M COMPETITIVE AS HELL ??? #TrustandBelieve #Fitfam
