Happy to welcome #ASEAN leaders to the Istana tonight for a working dinner and plenary session.
Singapore is the host for @ASEAN2018 and we have made “resilience” and “innovation” our chairmanship themes. ASEAN needs to strengthen our collective resilience against transboundary threats such as terrorism and climate change. Innovation and technology are important sources of growth and development that improve people’s lives.
I look forward to productive discussions during the tomorrow’s Summit, and hope the Leaders can put forth tangible initiatives that will make for a more resilient and innovative ASEAN.
