聽說人在死前的一秒鐘，他的一生會閃過眼前。首先，其實不是一秒鐘，而是延伸成無止境的時間，就像時間的海洋。 對我來說，我的一生是躺在草地上看著流星雨，還有街道上枯黃的楓葉，或是奶奶手上紙一樣的皮膚，還有我第一次看到托尼表哥那輛全新的火鳥跑車，還有珍妮，還有卡洛琳。我猜我死了應該生氣才對，但世界這麼美，不該一直生氣。有時候一直看完會無法承受，我的心像漲滿的氣球隨時會爆炸，後來我記得要放輕鬆，別一直想要緊抓著不放，所有的美就像雨水一樣洗滌著我，讓我對我這卑微愚蠢的生命，在每一刻都充滿感激。你一定不知道我在說什麼，別擔心，總有一天你會明白。

I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn't a second at all. It stretches on forever, like an ocean of time. For me, it was lying on my back at Boy Scout camp, watching falling stars. And yellow leaves from the maple trees that lined our street. Or my grandmother's hands and the way her skin seemed like paper. And the first time I saw my cousin Tony's brand-new Firebird. And Janie. And...Carolyn. I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happen to me, but it's hard to stay mad when thereis so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax and stop trying to hold on to it. And then it flows through me like rain, and I can't(don't) feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. You have no idea about what I'm talking about, I am sure. But don't worry. You will someday.
