Underneath the green fields of Copenhagen’s Søndermarken Park lies the @cisternerne, a former reservoir turned contemporary art space. Among its hefty colonnades and stalactite clad arches, artist @jeppe_hein has staged his most comprehensive exhibition yet in the Danish capital. Titled ‘In is the only way out’, it confronts viewers with automated flames, a labyrinth of rotating mirrors (seen here) and a symphony of Tibetan singing bowls. Disorienting, introspective and ultimately uplifting, it’s a reminder from Hein that, in art as in life, one must often confront the darkness to see the light
