31 years since you checked out of this place and not a single step have I taken that I don’t feel you right next to me. We always did do a lot of walking together. Uptown, all the way down to the Village and back. Swiftly. I had to work to keep up. Bars and pool halls in between midnight stops to let me run wild in empty playgrounds. Smiles always, for and from everyone. The time with you was always special. And it remains so. The kind of Love you gave was the realest kind. The forever kind. That’s how I carry it.
