???We’re celebrating the #RoyalWedding with this exquisite “Sauterelle” Bar by François-Xavier Lalanne. Executed in 1970, this Surrealist work is one of only two examples made with luxurious Sèvres porcelain; the other was presented as a gift by President Georges Pompidou to Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1972, where it remains in their collection today. Emerging from a private European collection, this stunning object is at one moment a whimsical, larger-than-life sculpture of a grasshopper, and the next, its body opens to function as a bar.
