On the day we arrived at Bayone/Tripo for our first Lidè classes, we heard clapping and an exuberant chorus of song.  Within moments of stepping from the truck, our staff was surrounded by a large circle of young girls who all shared the dream of one day earning their high school equivalency. Today 40 girls between the ages of 13 and 21 attend our weekly literacy, arts, mobile computer lab tutoring and language instruction in Bayone/Tripo.  All of these girls are behind in their schooling due to extreme poverty and an utter lack of public school access in the area, and yet they persevere, succeeding more and more in their studies with each passing day.  As the attached poem attests:  They are the definition of #hope. #artsandliteracy #capacitybuilding #changeagents #education #girlseducation #girlsempowerment #letgirlslearn #mentorship #potomitan #soul #transformation #womenhelpingwomen #youthleadership  #brightideas
