“There is no Republican Party. There’s a Trump party. Republican Party is kind of taking a nap somewhere,” former Speaker John Boehner said at a policy conference in Michigan on Thursday.

Boehner, who was handed a bloody mary during his interview, touched on the 2016 election and explained why he believes President Trump was surprised to win.

“I think Donald Trump promised Melania that he would not win — she didn’t have to worry about ever living in the White House,” Boehner continued. “It’s probably why she doesn’t look real happy every day … well, maybe one reason.”
