Semi Finals at the Boulder World Cup here in Japan was a hard round. I am disappointed not to have made the final at this event but despite my result I do feel like I am making progress and starting to feel more comfortable on the wall. Here’s a clip from the first boulder of the round. I was happy to manage to keep it together and do this one first try. .
The climbers put on a great show in finals. It was incredible to see @野口啓代 win in front of an enthusiastic and passionate home crowd. I’ve been competing alongside Akiyo for many years, her dedication and love for the sport often shines through in her precise, elegant yet fierce climbing style. It’s been so inspiring to see Akiyo stand at the top of the podium this year. Her career is truly admirable. The men’s boulders were brutal! The athletes were tested and @ガブリエル・モローニ came out on top with a throughly well deserved win. He absolutely smashed the last boulder and took the victory in style. A shout out also to Miho and Tomoa who both took the silver medals. Both Miho and Tomoa stepped up and piled the pressure on before Akiyo and Gabri attempted their last boulder. Making a very exciting finish to the finals. .
Not making finals and watching from behind the barrier is hard. However, it makes me so motivated to get back out there! . .
