This week The Earl of Wessex is in China as the Chair of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation. Today His Royal Highness has presented Awards in Beijing to young people from schools & organisations across China who have been recognised with the honour.
The Award is a global, non-formal education framework which challenges young people to develop new skills, get physically active, volunteer within their community and break outside their comfort zone to experience adventure.
The Award operates in more than 130 countries and territories around the world, helping to inspire over 1.3 million young people every year. In China and Hong Kong almost 60,000 young people are currently participating in the Award.
