‘Untitled (The Water Carrier)’ was a gift by Nobel Prize-winning artist, writer and polymath Rabindranath Tagore to his friend, the author and poet Lajwanti Rama Krishna. It is inscribed with: 'To Lajwanti with blessings 24/2/1935 Lahore'.

The work has passed down through the family and was presented to the current owner as a 21st birthday present.
