Rhododendron kiusianum is a flower that represents Mt. Kirishima. At Ebino Plateau, you can easily see large colonies of Rhododendron kiusianum along the footpaths. Due to last year's eruptive activity from Mt. Shinmoe and Mt. Io, the color of the flowers blooming this year is a much brighter magenta than usual. (The mountain the background is Mt. Karakunidake.)
