The 3’000 miles that lie between us make it impossible for me to see this man every day, but on #FathersDay, I’m sharing with a photo I see every day. This moment, the look on his face, the way he carries himself in the world and the evidence of the Johnson-Lawrence gene pool he bestowed upon me are all reasons I love this shot. Our bond is clear. We share a love of the performing arts, an extroverted spirit, an inquisitive and opinionated mind, the majesty of nature, a good story well told, a good dog and a good cold beer. I know how lucky I am to have had him by my side on my wedding day, and that I am even luckier to have had him still healthy and happy all these years. And although distance keeps us apart today, we will always be close because his love of family was another powerful and eternal gift he bestowed upon me. Happy Father’s Day Dad.
Btw, this is second time he walked down the aisle next to this gown. The first time was with the woman he had just married, who is still his wife and who made him a father?
