#MembersOnly: my Japanese grandfather used to have his long art exhibitions back in japan, we’d fly out to Tokyo for them.. & I remember always getting into trouble at the exhibits.
constantly having to stand in the corner lol because I was bad & I was bored af.. dad always knew how to keep me active: he taught me how to shoot a camera, how to kick a ball in AA soccer, & I always scored goals to make him proud ...softball, volleyball, surfing, many skills.
dad, a nuclear auditor and naval veteran —- he was smart af & tough on us... our relationship was never perfect #wabisabi —-but he was always fair.
Dad taught Jenni @ldnbikekitchen how to solder metal wires at five and he taught me to practice, to work with integrity & to constantly learn skills.

Now, Jenni, my big sis —is also a writer/author & she runs her own cycling shoppe @ldnbikekitchen in London ?? like a badass b & I can pretty much do anything well... with integrity & a little skill.
Dad never missed a hometown game & he was always there on the sidelines ... he told me I could do anything with my life but I was going to have to work hard.
He really didn’t say much, in his #membersonlyjacket but he showed us. The most honest & hard working man I know.
When I was broke af in Brooklyn, just about 7 years ago — my dad took me to be camera store for Christmas & he bought me a canon rebel ... I started shooting my own work & naturally remembered what he taught us — practice, integrity, skills.
