When Sven and Marianne burst on the scene in 1978, it was obvious music would never be the same. Seamlessly blending disco, power pop and Canterbury folk, the duo were poised for fame and success. Unfortunately, while delivering the master tapes for what would have been their first album, “Love’s Fascination,” Sven and the tapes perished after crashing off the side of Laurel Canyon. No drugs or alcohol were found in his system, but his last words have frequently been quoted as “Drive a stick shift? How hard could it be!?”
