It was the line. The one they drew in the sand and threatened about not crossing. Fuck it. Not only did I cross... I filled up my wheel barrow & I followed that little shit. Nubby little fingers left a trail of granules zig-zagging as they probably waddled off. Found ‘em cowering under a four legged screen name... a bit like an old motel card table, but a lot less game. Kicked that table off with a Suspicious Minded Elvis level of gusto and dumped that line right over their head. Not sure if it was their wailing & pleading in an orchestra of conviction-less tears, or magic itself... but that line was gone. Hell, turns out that shit was only ever a pile of sand. ? ps...
