Throughout my life I’ve had a need for long stretches of quiet space. My dad was the same. And it’s from him I learned that when I feel pressed or pulled by others or when I cannot hear myself think, it’s precisely then I need to retreat into the still and quiet. He used to tell me that the only area where I was ever obliged to engage was the space deep in my spirit, in my very heart. This weekend is for quiet. For being with my loved ones. And just enjoying the spaces where words are not needed. And I hope whatever your weekend entails, whether still or active, quiet or exuberant, it’s a weekend that is good for your heart.
