Equality has been an important value for Marimekko since our early days, and we want to promote the discussion around equal rights actively. To celebrate equal rights, Marimekko supports Helsinki Pride, taking place this week 25 June - 1 July 2018. Our symbol of equality is Tasaraita, even stripe, designed by Annika Rimala in 1968. 50 years ago she created a new symbol for the era of unisex, suitable for everyone irrespective of age and gender. This approach and discussion is as relevant now as it was back then.
