Today The Earl of Wessex officially opened a new state of the art national centre for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service. The Earl meet several of the 300 staff members at The Jack Copland Centre as well as a group of blood donors who have all donated blood 70 times and were born in 1948, the year the NHS was established. The Jack Copland Centre was built for the processing, testing and manufacturing of blood, donor tissues and cells.

The NHS celebrates its 70th birthday tomorrow. #NHS70
