Have you ever experienced a cut so deep, so excruciatingly painful that it left scars so obscene you swore you were never going to recover? You ever felt so thin that someone could snap you with a whisper and then they screamed? You ever felt so attached to someone that you felt like a drawn bath and if they were to leave......you would drain? Talking myself out of the bonfire is a daily ritual. A consistent decision to remain within the sobriety of aloneness. Drugs? Ha .....
drugs are temporary. A rising and falling tide dry humping the shoreline getting off with a far cry promise of returning one day. This sentiment tastes like eternity. Our memories are breadcrumbs to the depths of my heart where a treasure exists containing the moment you asked if I knew that cigarettes are bad for me. And even if I did.........I knew that they couldn’t possibly be as bad for me...as I am for you. Had I known that that conversation was a gateway drug....I would’ve drawn out this overdose for as long as my youthful body would’ve remained warm. If I knew then how much I love you now then this hangover would not have been the entity to have lasted forever. And yes, The whorish tides may wash my body but this soul is muddied by the universe that our collision created. Drugs. fortunately drugs can not replace you cus if they could... well then...that would be the real tragedy here, wouldn’t it?
