#AD: Today has been an absolute dream! This was my second ever #Pride, and this year, I was once more lucky enough to be IN the parade with @BarclaysUK! Last year I walked alongside the float.. this year I was on it!

I came out in a very permanent way around this time last year, having dipped my toes in & out of the closet since the age of 14, and since beginning to realise my sexual orientation from the age of 8 or 9. .
I’m a proudly bisexual woman. My orientation is not defined by any partner that I have in my life, but by my being. I wouldn't be a lesbian if I dated a woman, and I wouldn't be straight if I dated a man. I’ve gone through a lifetime of coming out to myself, and I have a lifetime of accepting myself to go.

I am lucky to live in a tolerant and welcoming city. I am lucky to have a loving and supportive family. I am endlessly privileged, and my heart aches every day for those who are murdered, tortured, driven to suicide, lead to feel ashamed of themselves, just because of how they were born. They are me and I am them.

Pride is a protest. Barclays held my hand through coming out and joining Pride, last year and this year. I am grateful for their support. It means a lot for a relatively small fish like me to team up with them and help make our voices heard. I hope that you find your solidarity & your community, and you let them empower you and allow you to accept yourself. .
