Hi. I'm Oli Scarff @oliscarff, a photographer based in the Yorkshire hills near Manchester, UK. I work predominately for @AFP通信 for whom I cover news, sports and features. I was awarded 1st prize in the Sports Singles category of #WPPh2018 and this week I’m taking over the World Press Photo's Instagram account. My work encompasses a broad array of subjects and events, from the very parochial to the global, so brace yourself for a week of highly eclectic pictures!

A significant proportion of my work is focused on servicing the immediate, and often insatiable, demands of the news media. This approach isn't necessarily conducive with being able to produce deep bodies of work on a particular theme. Later in the week however I'll be showing some work from assignments that I've been able to revisit and thus explore in more detail. Today and yesterday though are all about giving you a flavour of the range of my remit with AFP.
