Over the course of his six-decade career, @davidhurnphoto has been systematically building a collection of images built upon a shared exchange process. The innovative tradition began in the 1950s, with the Magnum photographer organizing an ‘image swap’ between other photographers, many of which are his fellow Magnum colleagues. The result is a collection of over 600 images, ranging from the intimate to the universal, from the 19th century to the present day.

Now, following exhibitions in London and Cardiff, a selection of images from David Hurn's collection are showing at @martinparrfdn in Bristol. The exhibition includes photographs taken by Hurn himself, alongside key photographic works by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alec Soth, Christopher Anderson, Elliott Erwitt and Newsha Tavakolian, giving not just overview of Magnum across the decades, but an insight into Davin Hurn as a connoisseur and patron of documentary photography.
