Japanese violinist Fumiaki Miura currently performs on this fine Italian violin, built by Antonio Stradivari, generously loaned by the Munetsugu Foundation.

This violin was once owned by the famous G.B Viotti, a name familiar to all students of the violin. The violin was long in the posession of a musical family of Gask named Oliphant, who, generation following generation, played and owned fine instruments.

Years later, George Hart acquired the violin and sold it to Colonel Harrison, after whose death Beare & Son of London acquired it. The violin later made it's way to a private owner in Stuttgart and was exhibited at the Stradivari Bicentenary.
