"It’s one of those timeless turns in surfing that feels great when you get that feeling of setting the rail and cutting through the water.
Keeping the shoulders square and the body still when you’re coming off the bottom will help this turn a lot. As you’re coming off your bottom turn you want to read the wave and look for that sweet spot where you will lay your turn down.
This sweet spot is somewhere in between the lip and the shoulder of the wave. As you’re coming to the top of the wave, you want to weight back onto your back leg before you start your turn. The front arm and head turn at the same time with the back arm following. When you weight back before your turn it gives you leverage to push harder as you’re going through it to give you that extra jam at the end” - @shanebeschen @alani.media
