As excited as a teenager and as restless as one too. That is how I felt last night, under the spotlights of Lajatico. Because there is no packed audience, no renowned theatre that can come close to matching the joy I felt standing on the stage of my home town. Joy, and anxiety intertwining with the joy, and the virtuous vibes of mutual love and affection that fills the air and intoxicates.

But of course, I am talking about Lajatico and nowhere else: this is the place where I wanted to present my “Piccoli versi”, here, where the teenager I used to be, was forged and then became a man.

Once again, this place that made me what I am welcomed me yesterday with the kindheartedness of a parent and bestowed me with an unforgettable evening, and my verses, which intimately contain my secret reflections, fears and passions, were appreciated with that indulgence that is typical of family.

The fondness of my much-loved hometown and its people helped me to appease my shyness and release 46 poems from my dreams, which yesterday I offered up in the pages of a book and to the hearts of those who would like to read them.
