It's throwback Thursday so I want to share this big news that happened a couple months ago. #tbt I want to once again thank the @aclu_michigan for their help to protect my First Amendment right in my advocacy against declawing. As far as I know, it's the first time the @aclu_nationwide has helped our cause and a cat!❤️ An animal rescue that declaws cats filed an unprecedented Personal Protection Order against me late last year to silence me for 5 months. ? The animal rescue's declawing vet was the impetus for filing the PPO. ? As we all know declawing vets have a lot at stake if we ban this inhumane and mutilating procedure. If you want to help this cause, I encourage you to read this full story and the very interesting court transcripts so that we can analyze the minds of people who condone this cat cruelty and gain insight into how we can inspire other human beings like these to NOT want to mutilate and harm the health and well-being of their kitties. False information and myths about declawing are a long tradition in many parts of the country like the Midwest and there has to be a way to wake up these folks to have them realize that there are simple, easy humane alternatives and that declawing is a barbaric and mutilating procedure that always harms a cat long term no matter how it is done or if it is done to a young kitten. Most vets declaw cats in this neck of the woods and don't educate their clients about the awful truth or about the easy, humane options.
