A recently rediscovered collection of 60,000 of photographer Ernest Cole's negatives brings to light unseen work from South Africa that predates his exile, as well as work made in the USA until his retirement from photography. From these negatives and Cole's own notes, we hope to solve some of the mysteries surrounding his life and his alienation from photography, and to gain a better appreciation of the incredible power of his work.
