Pursuing the off-the-grid concept explored in the face motif FW18 campaign, our friend #AlexKnost took our doormat and his camera to explore abandoned areas of Los Angeles’ suburbs: ⁣⁣

“California refuge, contextualized as the ultimate American dream. A manifested west coast destiny, a grid laid of suburbs, its ideal weather, an excess opportunity, dreams filled with swimming pools, bougainvillea and an inherent glamour; familiar, yet exotic. These images are the leftovers. Portraits of skeleton grids and their suburban lawn decay. I placed the face motif doormat in the vanishing shade of what once-was an ideology. These locations now only welcome the aftermath individuals, temporarily dwelling before they are forever removed and replaced with the sort of tacky stucco condominiums unanimous with the overdeveloped, white washed southern California reality television dream.” @KnostThankYou
