The act of reading itself brings me joy and enriches my life. A good book transports me into that world and allows me to feel like I am living the life described on the pages. I am pretty sure that I have loved books since before I even knew how to read; my parents always encouraged me and were excellent role models as they were always reading books themselves. I love rereading the classics, but lately I have found psychological thrillers extremely compelling as they offer a more active experience. Like a puzzle being pieced together, these stories are filled with problems to be solved, and anticipating the finale excites me; whether or not I am able to guess the outcome of the book, it ignites the detective in me and keeps me racing to the last page.
