Ahhh sooo gutted! Finals race didn’t pan out the way I wanted and I finished 5th overall, but this post isn’t going to be about me or my result, it’s about the people who got me here. • • We might not of brought home a medal, but you all helped build a new person and I am forever grateful. A medal means nothing compared to what you all have done for me. I want to thank the US Sailing Team (Meredith, Kate, Malcolm, Will) for never giving up on me last year and for caring for me as a person, not just an athlete. My sponsors, teammates and St Francis Yacht Club for sticking by me through highs and lows. Chris, Mike and Caroline for making me a stronger healthier person and guiding me everyday. Steve, my wonderful coach for helping me push pass barriers that I couldn’t make over and for being the pat on my back when disappointment was overwhelming. Brit and Jessica you are more then my best friends, you’re my sisters. Your hugs, support and friendships make me feel as though I’m the luckiest person. Alicia and Ryan for helping me stay focused when I felt there was no end with doctors. Douglas for being my crazy brother since we were 15. Henry your loyalty is unlike any other and it means everything to me. Hallie, you've become my family and lil sis. Barnard family for always caring about me and checking in. My dearest Tom for helping pick my head up when it had fallen after facing setbacks and being the shoulder I cried on countless times. I couldn’t be more thankful for you to of entered my life this year. Lastly my family, you all are everything to me and none of this would be possible without our teamwork and love. You’re my world. • I was a broken, weak, sick person this time last year and I was living my life by putting one foot in front of the other. These people gave me hope, a light at the end of the tunnel and they walked next to me as I continued to grow stronger and healthier. Without them, there would be no Paige Railey at the World Champs wearing medalist bibs and competing for a medal in the finals race. I didn’t bring home hardware now, but I feel positive that it will happen in the future bc with these people next to me anything is possible ❤️
