Spike Lee's #BlacKkKlansman arrives in theaters on the one year anniversary of Charlottesville - and that's no coincidence. Preproduction had just begun when Charlottesville exploded, and "the timing for this couldn't be more urgent," producer Jordan Peele recalls thinking. Although the film is set in the 1970s, Spike Lee decided to include footage from the deadly riots in the film.
