Photo by @Thomas Peschak // On Kuwait’s intertidal mudflats, giant male mudskippers (some the length of a milk bottle) display vigorously to attract females during the breeding season. In addition to erecting their impressive fins they also leap dramatically into the air to communicate to females at greater distances. Boleophthalmus dussumieri, known locally as Boshlambo are as skittish as they are flamboyant. It took many hours of lying motionless in the mud to photograph these courtship rituals.
