Muslims believe that it honors the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ismaeal, in an act of obedience to God's command. Before sacrificing, God intervened by replacing the son (Ismail) with a ram in his place. In commemoration of this, 'typically: lamb, cow, goat' meat is sacrificed and divided for family; relatives, friends and neighbors; and to the poor and needy. #islam #muslims eid #eidaladha #goat #muscat #oman
