Black-Owned Brooklyn spotlights Black contributions shaping BK neighborhoods, the diversity of Black culture in the borough, and the everyday lives of Black Brooklyn. Why? Because we believe our world is just as interesting as any other world. It’s a belief we share with the pioneering artists in “Soul of a Nation,” whose work reasserted their own history and traditions — regardless of whether it was valued by the mainstream.⠀
