shadow of the city 8.25.18

back at home now. took yesterday off to recover. something about that entire day that just makes me fall apart in all the best ways. i want to thank you for saturdays festival (or block party or bleachercon or whatever this thing is turning into. i don’t know what it is i just now it has to be). bottom line is it matters so much to all of us who are there which is not something that happens quickly or easily. shadow of the city is 4 years in and this past saturday i felt something coming together i had only be dreaming of. seeing all of you come from all over the world to a place that is central to my music gave me some great strength. gave me confidence to keep things in motion. this thing that bring us together -its vital for me and i know for you as well to have a place we can come together and deal with the intensity of being out there trying to find a way to feel good. —— a little more: the songs are what i have to show for the darkest moments ive known. the shows are the ritual in which we come together to celebrate life beyond that darkness in each of us respectively. thats not something i take lightly and i know you don’t either.
thanks for shadow of the city and thanks for everything leading up to. ill be in the studio and home writing the next few months to figure out how to say everything this time around. a lot has changed, a lot to say. its probably way more simple than i can understand yet
