This is my cousin Lauren. She was born with a rare lung disease and was not expected to live past 5 years old. Fortunately she has the warrior energy of my family and a truly inspiring spirit. She proved every specialist wrong and a few days ago at the age of 14 had her last surgery so she is now 100% living without assistance. A real miracle. I aspire to be as courageous as her. She is also smart, creative, positive and a beautiful person. The struggle and sacrifice for her to just be alive is indescribable. She did it, and is full of hope and love. She is also a big fan of Marvel (as you can see from her shirt) and Shatterstar ;) I hope her story inspires you to never give up. Feel free to leave a message of encouragement. She is the super hero to me.
