There might’ve been a point today where my heart was so overflowing with gratitude that tears filled my eyes?? Years ago, before I started Youtube, before I was a makeup artist, I worked many jobs, sometimes 2-4 at a time.
There were times in my life when I didn’t have food to eat, I was very depressed & thought there was NO WAY anything good could EVER, or WOULD EVER happen in my life.
I felt like a complete failure.
I was a divorced single mom, that couldn’t afford childcare for my kids (i have 4 angels, but I don’t show them at their dads request , but scroll to a Mother’s Day post & u can see them. I stopped writing my mom blog KandeeLand, years ago because it was too hard trying to write about our days but not show them) for me to do makeup on commercials & shoots & have enough money left over to pay rent.
I prayed asking God to just give me a way to take care of my babies.
A friend showed me Lauren Luke on Youtube doing makeup tutorials. U couldn’t make money at youtube & there weren’t any internet famous people.
I started Youtube to teach & share my knowledge of makeup so that others could feel beautiful, which is why I became a makeup artist. The words “influencer” or “beauty community” were not even used then. I just knew I always loved teaching, making people feel happy, beautiful & loved. With my little videos, my heart would rejoice getting to do that.
You all became my Kandee Family of friends on the Internet. I was beyond happy to be able to add some happiness to ur day.
Never would I have imagined the blessings God had waiting for me. And I want YOU to know:
Whatever ur going thru. Whatever feels overwhelming, hopeless or like nothing good is in sight, please be encouraged by my story. I know that feeling. U can’t see the sunshine that’s right beyond the big stormy clouds, but it’s there with a rainbow that u can’t see yet! Keep going my darlings. Because like my mom always says: All the hard things are just going to make ur success story that much better!
I walked into my hotel room in Florida tonight to this surprise from @ogx_beauty & could not believe I am treated this way. My ❤️ was overflowing with thankfulness. Be encouraged my babies❤️
