In September 2016 @アレックス・オノルド invited me on a trip to Morocco where we would be climbing and filming for a documentary piece on Alex. On our first night in Morocco he revealed his plans to give free soloing El Cap a good go. The next year and a half became a wild ride of doubt, fear and inspiration. I felt the best thing I could do as a friend was to up his chance of survival through helping him to prepare as well as possible. Watching the film Free Solo this weekend at Telluride brought back all the queasiness and the joy. Almost as impressive as the climb itself was the team of incredible people that brought it to the big screen. Big thanks to Alex ,@jimmy_chin and @mochinyc for including me on this incredible journey. ? @samuelcrossley
