this NY subway station is as hot as the sun’s armpit but I’ve got the coolest dumbo squid on my forehead thanks to the wonderful @highseasalliance - just went to a very inspiring and fire-under-bum lighting event put on my the wonderful @synchearth and my dear friend @jessicasweidan - currently the UN is negotiating a treaty to protect the very vulnerable high seas (the areas of ocean not governed by anyone, therefore the most susceptible to humans doing awful things like dumping toxic waste, deep sea mining, doing unspeakable things to whales, etc.) and the more we start talking about the high seas, the more pressure we can apply to them to make the treaty as effective and robust as possible. They pay extra attention when we pay attention, apparently. I’d love to start a dialogue about the high and deep seas (of which includes the Weddell Sea, the Giant area of the Antarctic that we are working with @greenpeace on) - I’d love it if you’d ask questions or offer insight that you have.
