A decade has passed since the 2008 financial crisis, and former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson fears Americans may have forgotten its lessons.
Paulson was a policymaker who countered the #2008financialcrisis on its front lines. He thinks our banking sector is stronger today, and that the U.S. government can now better deal with failing institutions before they need bailouts. But he's also really concerned over U.S. debt.
Publicly-held federal debt is now 77% of GDP— double its 2007 level. “If we don’t act, that is the most certain fiscal or economic crisis we will have,” Paulson said. “It will slowly strangle us.” More, at the link in our bio.
