Photo by @FransLanting | This man is looking at the largest flower on earth called Rafflesia. It is the only visible part of a mysterious organism that lives underground in the jungles of Borneo. When it emerges, it looks like a giant cabbage at first, but when its petals unfold it becomes an extraordinary blossom up to three feet across—the size of a tractor tire! This alien plant looks like something out of Avatar. With this image I wanted to create a view from within the flower, the way a fly might see it when it enters to pollinate the blossom.
