Conceptual food designer @lailacooks’s personal life is just as inventive as her job: Born in Cairo but based in New York, 29-year-old Laila recently married her magazine-editor husband, Omar, in a bull ring in Spain – and forewent a traditional white gown in favor of a full Spanish funeral mantilla. "We are free to write our own rules," says Laila of today’s women. "I always felt like I didn’t fit into a traditional mold. As a child I was frustrated by this, but now I’m really thankful for it – it forced me to pave my own path. To think differently. I’d like to be remembered as someone who did things on my own terms."
