••••#neverforget •••• My grandma Shirley’s birthday was September 11th. Her apartment on the LES of Manhattan had a clear view of the Twin Towers. On her birthday in 2001... she was pouring her coffee, looking out her kitchen window, when she saw smoke... from that day forth, her birthday was marked with tragedy. My grandma, a tough as nails New Yorker, cried as all of us did. I was born and raised in NYC...
I couldn’t be prouder if I tried. As a born and bred New Yorker, I think all of my fellow natives will attest to the fact that we are one of the most resilient and relentless cities in the whole world. I would like to take a moment to recognize the insurmountable suffering of those who lost loved ones, the incomprehensible bravery of the first responders, and the undeniable impact the events of 9/11/01 had on every New Yorker, every American...and every human.
New York, I love you. I am so proud to be from this beautiful city. We will #neverforget ... ever. ❤️?
